Best Exercise for Beginners,
Playing chromatic scale is the best exercise for beginner or intermediate level guitarists. It gives the grip on the fretboard or making finger muscle.

Chromatic scale is pretty simple as follows:

Do this exercise from 6th (lower E) string to 1st ( higher E) string.

E ---4-5-6-7---------------
A -------------4-5-6-7------
D-----------------------4-5-6-7------
